The Streak Killers

Blackberry Messenger is like AIM but for Blackberry's strictly. The program allows you to write an away message for people to see. My Boy Ralph had his away, and I couldn't have put it any better then he did. "The Los Angeles Lakers: Streak Killers" was what it said. Back on Christmas Day, Boston came to Tinsel town and the Lakers ended their 19 game winning streak. A few days ago, it was LA's turn to go to Boston, and they ended The Celtic's 12 game winning streak. Yesterday afternoon, probably one of the best streaks going(or that was going on) was the Cleveland Cavaliers 23 game home winning streak.

See the theme here? The Lakers came into Quicken Loans Arena and did work. Kobe Bryant was under the weather, but his teammates came through. Especially New York's own, Lamar Odom. Probably one of the nicest dudes I've ever met, Lamar used all 6'11inches that god blessed him with. In the 3rd quarter alone, he had a double-double. Enough said. Pau Gasol did his usual, dropping 18 points and 12 boards. Lamar Finished the game with 28 points and 17 boards, while Kobe, flu like symptoms and all, dropped 19, and an amazing fade away with LeBron in his face, that went about 5 feet over the basket and dropped in, nothing but net. The Lakers Defeated the Cavaliers 101-91 ending that 23 game Home Win Streak for the Cav's.

The Cav's got off to a pretty good start, leading most of the game, and showing signs of almost taking the game. Zydrunas Ilgauskas was making everything in the 1st half, when LeBron and Mo Williams weren't coming through and delivering, Big Z and Wally Szczerbiak were putting in work. Wally came off the bench to drop 16 points, shooting 4-5 from the 3 point line. Big Z finished the game with 22 points and 9 rebounds. LeBron was having a bad shooting game, and couldn't get anything to drop, but still managed to have 16 points and 12 assists. Mo Williams added 19 points.

The only streak the Lakers can break now, is their own. They are on a 6-0 Road trip that seems to have them full of confidence. Lets Go Lakers!!!
