R.I.P. Troy "Escalade" Jackson
About 4 or even 5 years ago my friends and I went to Six Flags and were headed home pretty late. We were all hungry and decided to stop for gas and get a quick bite to eat at Burger King. In the Parking lot were these huge tour buses with The And 1 players and logo and whatnot on them. I figured they were on their Nation Wide tour at the moment so I rushed in and to my surprise they were all just there eating and having some laughs. As I got online to order my food I was behind Troy Jackson, better known as "Escalade". He eclipsed me to say the least. He was a huge man. His voice was just like he was...physically overpowering. The lady taking orders was taking forever and we were both getting frustrated he turned around and looked down and said "Ain't this some shit homie? You come hungry as hell and the closer you get to the food the longer it takes." I couldn't help but just stare at him and burst out laughing as he did too. We gave each other a pound and I wished him good luck on the rest of the tour and went to get myself something else to eat.
Troy "Escalade" Jackson passed away yesterday, February 20th in his sleep. He was the younger brother of Former NBA player Mark Jackson. My condolences go to him and his family.
